Texas authorities recently apprehended a driver after a high-speed pursuit in the College Station area that reached speeds of 117 mph. His arrest resulted in multiple criminal charges, including serious drug charges related to the alleged sale of illegal substances. If convicted, the driver is facing the potential for grave legal repercussions, including fines and time behind bars.

Car chase and eventual arrest

It is not clear how the car chase began, but the pursuit took place along Texas 6. The officer pursuing the defendant’s vehicle lost sight of the car once it left the highway, but it was eventually located parked outside of a convenience store. Officers found the driver in the store, but he apparently would not tell them his name.

After searching the vehicle, officers found evidence believed to relate to the sale of drugs. This included a large bag of pills believed to be amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. They say the search also resulted in the discovery of a pound of marijuana and two bags of Xanax pills. The Texas driver is officially charged with evading arrest, delivery or manufacturing of a controlled substance, as well as failure to identify and possession of marijuana.
